CSA Community

CSA or Community Supported Agriculture brings the community and the farmer together in a relationship of mutual support. Community members purchase a "share” of the anticipated harvest in advance and we farmers plant, cultivate, and harvest a bountiful selection of vegetables, fruit, flowers and herbs. In short, you partner with us in the production, distribution, and consumption of locally grown food. CSAs allow you to intimately know where your food came from, eat in harmony with the seasons, and enjoy a delicious, healthy diet of pure, fresh foods - a rarity in our big-box grocery store chain world.

How our CSA works:
Each year, we will offer a limited number of "shares” to the public. This share entitles you to a weekly box of freshly harvested fruit and vegetables from June through November. You can pick-up your box at the farm on designated dates or at one of the many farmer's markets we attend. And don't worry, we'll send you an email to remind you when your box is ready, provide you a list of what to expect, and some farm secrets for storing and preparing your bounty.

CSAs are good for you because you get all fresh produce packed with vitamins and bursting with flavor. You also may get exposed to new varieties of fruits and vegetables as well as new methods of cooking them. You'll find that a side benefit is that the kids will end up eating healthy foods they never would have tried before. The CSA offers a direct way for you to become involved in the ecological and human community that supports the farm.

CSAs are good for us farmers too because we actually get the opportunity to know the people who enjoy the produce we grow. It also helps financially. By paying for your seasonal produce at the same time we are preparing to plant, you are assuring us of a market and we are committing to grow that food to the best of our ability.
